GMP GPP Security Officer

The GMP GPP Security Officer will report to the GMP GPP Security Coordinator and act as the on-ground security focal point for project activities. The role involves close coordination with Iraqi Security Forces, contractors, and local communities to ensure effective implementation of security measures.

Key responsibilities:

• Monitor and coordinate deployment of state security forces protecting project sites
• Ensure contractors and suppliers comply with company security standards
• Liaise with Iraqi Security Forces to implement and maintain effective security measures
• Support daily personnel-on-board (POB) reporting
• Enforce company security policies, procedures, and best practices
• Conduct and support security training and awareness programs
• Monitor and audit security contractor performance
• Participate in threat assessments and provide security intelligence updates
• Maintain regular reporting (daily and weekly security reports)
• Investigate security incidents and produce detailed reports
• Act as Security Liaison Officer during crisis situations
• Collaborate with sustainability teams to stay updated on local developments

Requirements

• Degree in Defense, Security, International Relations, or a related field
• Fluency in English and Arabic (both written and spoken)
• Minimum 10 years of relevant security experience
• At least 5 years of experience with Iraqi Security Forces (ISF)
• Strong experience in coordinating with military, police, and private security companies
• Proven ability to build networks with local communities and stakeholders
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
• Ability to work under pressure in hostile or high-risk environments
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
