We are seeking a Community Liaison Officer Conduct internal and use pre-survey at requirement expression stage (requisition) to aert, and implements in the field the Community Relation plan specific to the different surveys.
Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders while capturing their expectations and concerns regarding Company and contractor activities.
Organize local community engagement activities, including consultations, negotiations, and disclosure meetings.
Engage with the different tribes present within the Project area to facilitate effective consultation across all communities.
Ensure appropriate attention is given to vulnerable community members, including elderly people, children, and female-headed households, to understand their specific needs.
Maintain dedicated engagement programs with Indigenous communities, specifically Bedouin communities known to reside seasonally within the Project Area of Interest (AOI).
Manage long-term relationships with local communities and ensure stakeholders are appropriately informed about ongoing and planned construction and operational activities.
Support the Land Access Team in field activities related to land access acquisition and implementation of the livelihood restoration plan, including engagement with different land users.
Monitor community attitudes toward the Project and ensure relevant information is communicated to the appropriate hierarchy.
Record and communicate all community grievances to the Grievance Coordinator, including grievances resolved directly on site without requiring additional follow-up.
Conduct daily site walks to monitor project progress, remain available to workers regarding current issues, and anticipate potential disruptions.
Identify unanticipated community and project impacts and report them to the appropriate hierarchy, together with proposed mitigation measures.
Identify potential opportunities to support initiatives benefiting local communities and incorporate them into project reporting.
Requirements
Engineering degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline.
10–15 years of experience in Community Management within the Oil & Gas industry, preferably on large-scale projects and in complex environments.
Good understanding of government relations, document control, and information-flow management.
Experience in the Southern Iraq region is appreciated.
Arabic as a mother tongue and fluent English, both spoken and written.
Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Good organizational and coordination skills, with strong anticipation, discernment, and responsiveness.
