We are seeking a Pipeline Construction Lead to champion HSE compliance, drive a strong safety culture, and ensure effective incident management and contractor adherence to HSE standards. The role will also act as the on-site single point of contact for community and environmental matters, ensuring timely escalation, issue resolution, and maintenance of the project's social license to operate.
HSE Leadership
Champion HSE compliance in line with CSR guidelines.
Participate actively in Toolbox Talks (TBT) and promote a strong safety culture to the contractor.
Coordinate with the site HSE team on incident reporting and investigation.
Support emergency preparedness and contractor HSE compliance across all pipeline work fronts.
Pipeline Construction Delivery
Lead field construction activities from right-of-way (ROW) preparation through to reinstatement.
Monitor contractor progress against the project schedule and quality requirements.
Oversee welding, non-destructive examination, and hydrotesting activities in line with approved procedures and inspection and test plans.
Supervise complex crossings, including horizontal directional drilling and micro tunneling works.
Resolve site construction issues in coordination with the construction manager and the contractor's field teams.
Environmental Compliance
Ensure immediate escalation to the construction manager (CM) of environmental non-conformances.
Escalate chance finds, including archaeological and ecological discoveries, immediately and ensure work is managed accordingly.
Verify that environmental controls are maintained throughout construction and reinstatement.
Community Engagement
Serve as the on-site single point of contact (SPOC) for Community Liaison Officers (CLOs).
Address community grievances and issues promptly to prevent escalation.
Maintain the project's social license to operate through consistent engagement with local stakeholders.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/civil/construction engineering (or equivalent experience).
16+ years total construction experience, including 8+ years in pipeline projects with proven field leadership.
Strong working knowledge of ASME B31.4/B31.8, API 1104, ITPs, WPS/PQR, NDE methods, and hydrotesting.
Demonstrated track record delivering ROW to reinstatement safely, to quality, and on schedule.
Hands-on experience with HDD/micro tunneling and complex crossings.
