Risk Engineer
We are seeking a Risk Engineer who will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with projects, operations, or engineering activities. The role ensures safety, regulatory compliance, and minimizes potential financial, operational, and environmental impacts. The Risk Engineer works closely with project teams, HSE, and management to implement risk management strategies.
- Identify and assess risks in engineering designs, project execution, and operational activities.
- Conduct risk assessments, hazard analyses (HAZOP, FMEA, Bow-Tie, etc.), and safety studies.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation plans and preventive measures.
- Review project designs, procedures, and operations to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Monitor and report key risk indicators (KRIs) and track mitigation progress.
- Support incident investigations, root cause analyses, and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare risk reports, documentation, and presentations for management.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (engineering, operations, procurement, HSE) for risk control.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards (ISO 31000, OSHA, API, IEC, or relevant codes).
- Provide training and awareness sessions on risk management practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field)
- 3–7 years of experience in risk assessment, safety engineering, or project risk management
- Knowledge of risk assessment tools and techniques (HAZOP, LOPA, FMEA, Bow-Tie, etc.)
- Familiarity with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
- Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and risk management software/tools
