Diesel Mechanic

We are seeking a Diesel Mechanic who will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. The role ensures all machinery operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and safety standards.

  • Inspection & Diagnosis: Inspect diesel engines, vehicles, and heavy equipment. Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic tools. Identify worn or damaged parts requiring replacement.
  • Repair & Maintenance: Perform routine preventive maintenance (oil changes, filter replacement, lubrication). Repair or replace engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, and hydraulic components. Overhaul diesel engines and rebuild components when necessary. Test vehicles and equipment after repairs.
  • Equipment & Tools: Use diagnostic equipment and hand/power tools properly. Maintain workshop tools and equipment in good condition. Ensure safe handling of hazardous materials and fluids.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Maintain service and repair records. Follow safety procedures and company policies. Report major defects or recurring issues to supervisors. Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Technical Certification in Diesel Mechanics or Automotive Technology
  • 2–5 years of experience in diesel engine repair (trucks, buses, heavy equipment, generators, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems and hydraulics
  • Ability to read technical manuals and schematics
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Physical stamina and ability to work in workshop/site conditions
