Road Safety Coordinator

Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Road Safety Coordinator to oversee and manage all road safety and traffic management activities across project operations. The role is responsible for ensuring safe transportation practices, compliance with UAE traffic regulations, and adherence to project HSE standards.

The successful candidate will play a key role in preventing road traffic incidents, monitoring driver compliance, managing journey planning, and supporting overall transport safety performance on site.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Road Safety Plans (RSP) and Traffic Management Plans (TMP).
• Monitor all project transport activities including light and heavy vehicles.
• Ensure compliance with journey management procedures and defensive driving practices.
• Conduct road safety inspections, vehicle audits, and driver compliance checks.
• Monitor driver licensing, competency, training, and approvals.
• Investigate road traffic incidents and near misses; implement corrective actions.
• Conduct road safety inductions and awareness sessions.
• Maintain road safety KPIs, reports, and performance statistics.
• Coordinate with logistics, subcontractors, and site management to ensure safe traffic flow.
• Support client and regulatory audits related to transport safety.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Safety, or related discipline.
• Minimum 2–4 years of experience in road safety or transport safety within construction, EPC, or infrastructure projects (GCC preferred).
• NEBOSH IGC or IOSH Managing Safely (Mandatory).
• Strong knowledge of UAE Traffic Laws and road safety standards.
• Experience in journey management and fleet safety monitoring.
• Incident investigation and risk assessment experience.

Preferred

• ADNOC Road Safety approval (advantage).
• UAE Driving License.
• Defensive Driving certification.
• Internal auditing certification (ISO 45001 / ISO 14001).
• Additional certifications (First Aid, Firefighting, PTW – advantage).
